 What is a healthy dinner?

 What Makes a Healthy Dinner?  Let me say first and foremost that everyone has their own understanding of "healthy".  What is healthy for a person on a paleo diet is not healthy for vegetarians.  Do you know what I mean ?!  So, let's be nice to each other except for our differences.


 Without Googling the definition of "healthy," here's what I strive to put on the dinner table in my family 80% of the time.  Because let's be honest, there is real life with outings in the malls and travel and because everyone gets sick and bored of cooking by Friday.  even me!


 Our healthy family dinner is:


 Made with real food (my menu).  All ingredients are simple: grains, meats, veggies and seasonings with 1 to 3 ingredients.

 It covers all food groups: protein, carbohydrates and fats.

 A moderate amount of meat because I'm convinced that in North America we eat a lot of it.

 Always vegetables.

 This is.  Personally, I think it's easy to eat healthy food if you don't overeat it.

 We eat a lot of chicken.  Maybe like you.  When buying chickens I usually buy organic because of what they are fed and how they are raised.  Costco is my favorite source of chicken.


 I usually serve these simple chicken dishes with a side of quinoa, brown rice, buckwheat, or mashed potatoes.  And a simple salad like cucumber and tomato salad and lots of lettuce salad.  When we are "lazy," my husband makes green juice.

 Kids love anything from tacos, quesadillos, and burritos.  Cheese cannot be avoided when making it.  I try to use a little bit of high-quality natural or organic cheese.  Load these finger food with veggies and protein and wrap in a tortilla or whole wheat bread.  Healthy and easy!

 Pans are as forgiving as soup.  You can throw everything together and you can set the flair on the go.  It's so hard to eat this quick and easy healthy dinner.  Slingshots are great for novice chefs.  I also like that many can make low carb with lots of vegetables and serve with grains for more hungry children and couples.


 Which frying pan is better?  I love to use nonstick PFOA free porcelain fryers.  Large size with deep edges.  Keep in mind that any non-stick coating loses its non-sticky qualities after about 6 months.  So, you are not you.  So far, I've had luck with Green Pan.

 Once again, kids love to fry and love most curries.  What makes this curry healthy is canned whole coconut milk and not store-bought sauces.  And I always use frying sauce at home.  Once again, there are no packaging with preservatives or complex ingredients.


 French fries are loaded with vegetables, so they're very healthy.  So serve it alone for a low-carb (mom) meal and with a complicated carbon side for everyone.  Easy healthy dinner!

 1 Pot & 1 plate dinner proves that a healthy 30-minute dinner can be delicious without washing 3 utensils.  With one skillet, it is important to know the correct mix of foods, so that the pasta does not turn soft or the meat is not completely cooked.  Below, they're all tried and true in one bowl as I work on more.

 My thoughts fast healthy dinner

 True, ground turkey can be dry.  I love adding chopped zucchini when cooking with ground turkey.  Make sure to include only interesting turkey recipes.  I love serving meatballs with whole-wheat spaghetti, and the kids squeeze organic ketchup everywhere.  It's okay by me.  Also this is the Mexican street corn salad if you are wondering.  I really don't think if you go Mexican with Italian.  We just eat healthy.

Salmon is a treat due to its price.  I really believe in eating wild versus farmed salmon.  Healthy salmon recipes are ready in less than 30 minutes.  And again, serve them with whole grains and a side of vegetables instead of a salad for a change: corn, asparagus, butternut squash and broccoli.
